Originating in Andalusia (more specifically in Estepa) in the 16th century. Ever since then, the recipe, based on flour, butter, sugar and almond has remained the same, and Sirvent has refined these small cakes, giving them a characteristic touch.
Their oval shape, characteristic texture (compressed on the outside and soft inside) and the powdered sugar makes them a typical Christmas confectionery.
